In this Sermon from Samoa I give advice for Christian’s intending to vote in the upcoming 2016 Election in Samoa – DON’T. I explain how Democracy is literally an idol; how the entire financial and political system is immoral and totally contrary to everything that the Lord teaches and I show how the principle of authority applies to Christian voters who have incredible power at their fingertips – if they only but exercise it.
First, a warning to those quoting from this piece – you must refer back to www.dennis.co.nz as per my terms. Please also quote words in proper context if you do!
THE 2016 ELECTION
Samoa’s 5-yearly election circus is currently in full swing. The main show takes up in early March 2016, where the sheeple will all walk through the voting styles and be made to feel all powerful. Chief clown Tuila’epa will again no doubt take-up the reigns which will follow with the encore rounded out with a prayer and no doubt general merriment and agreement that God’s will was done; Tui is God’s choice and therefore the world will continue pretty much the same as it did the day before, and before that.
I love the rough and tumble of politics – always have – but Samoan politics bores the pants off me quite frankly. Except for the big-cheese who does his best to lighten things up from time to time, they’re all so bloomin’ serious here . . . it’s so funny because it seems to me that they all actually believe their own words!
There’s a groundswell of public frustration with an administration that is increasingly seen as corrupt and ready to borrow to build to look good. It’s not that corruption, cover-ups and looking good are anything new in Samoa, far from it, it’s more that people are now getting wiser as to what the politicians really get up to. This is a good thing but the tut-tutting that comes from [primarily] the Samoa Observer’s editorial department ignores the fact that this is reality in politics; always has been; always will be.
DEMOCRACY IS ANTI-GOD
This then is the point of the post, that the political structure that works hand-in-hand with the financial structure is a system of the evil one – NOT of the Lord. Democracy is an accursed structure. It is the second Beast, that was first killed (the early Roman republic was the only other real democracy in history that was killed off with the Caesars’ rule) and that has arisen in the last century or so from the death to be [almost] universally worshiped and adored unthinkingly – literally an idol. Don’t get fooled by claims that RFID chips or a physical mark could be the Mark of the Beast – they’re not – they simply represent a heart/spirit compliance with the NATURE of the Beast.
Democracy gets a hugely bad rap in Scripture – from the first mention of man conspiring (i.e. voting) in the Garden of Eden) through every instance of groups of humans voting or agreeing to do ANYTHING (like bowing down to golden calves) right through to the Book of Revelation where you see the politicians and money-men running into the hills in despair as the people realise what a total balls-up their leaders have made of things. I just can’t wait to see this and Samoa’s increasing awareness that there is something seriously wrong with their political leadership is a precursor to the events mentioned in both Daniel and the Book of Revelation.
There’s only one instance in Scripture where Democracy as a concept ever comes near the biblical ideal and it is a reference in the book of Acts to the Apostles agreeing and acting in concert BUT and this is a huge ‘but’, they did this under the leadership of the Holy Spirit! Everywhere else Democracy = BAD!
Democracy, and thus the voting that goes with it empowers evil – it first creates the mindset that “we the people” have or should have the power (sound anything like a temptation in the Garden of Eden?) then it creates the legal environment that gives itself authority to legitimise its existence (the Lord gives freewill in love and doesn’t need to enforce His authority but the ‘other one’ does!), and then it feeds itself increasing legislation, power, and influence (have you ever seen a government REDUCE it’s power, indebtedness or areas of influence?)
THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM
Then Democracy’s twin, the financial system over the last century of so too has commingled with politics (aka The Money Power) to the point that the Central Banking system with usury-based financial system is pretty much a global affair. For those not up with the play on this subject, God unequivocally prohibits usury (the charging of interest on money) and by-and-large the entire body of Christendom for 1500 years considered lending (or indeed borrowing!) at interest a mortal sin, yet since the early 1500s when the Pope engineered a back-door loophole, the practice of charging interest has grown to become normal.
Central Banks all settle with the privately owned Bank of International Settlements and this money monopoly is enforced by the political strand of human government – all countries prohibit the creation of competing currencies, thus enslaving all to the curse of compounding interest at country, local and often individual levels.
When you see the globalisation at a political level then you will have the predicted central world government that astute Christians all know will mean serious persecution.
I move now into the issue of authority and explain how this affects the voting process.
SIGNIFICANCE OF AUTHORITY
God (the Lord from a Christian perspective) assigned authority for the world to Adam and Eve. He gave them “dominion” which could never be taken back by force or unilaterally because the Lord is true to His word and there were no conditions on the gift. At that point, with freewill, mankind had capacity to decide the future and basically screwed up . . . authority was assigned at that point from the mankind to the evil one . . . and surprise, surprise all hell broke loose!
This is history that explains the current state of being in the world today but the Good News (the Gospel) explains that Jesus did the honourable thing, DID what the Father asked of Him and gifted (returned) the authority that had been lost back to heaven. This is the significance of His atoning sacrifice – that Jesus has nailed the power of the devil to the cross once and for all. It is now in Heaven that authority resides for matters on earth.
Obviously things are still not back to the Garden of Eden state around us so there is clearly still a problem on planet earth. Many still believe that the devil has authority on earth but this is a lie, he used to, but his authority was taken from him spectacularly on the Cross a couple of thousand years ago. The reason that we are not living in a state of blessing is because we do not exercise the authority that we have as Christians with a Saviour in charge. Post the cross, we all give evil the right to exist in our lives through ignorance, deception or by deliberate choice.
Apart from a few Christian sects that deny the divinity of Christ and usurp His role with additional books/teaching, this is all so far is pretty uncontroversial BUT the key to understanding this in a practical sense (like such as considering voting) is to grapple with the HOW that the Lord wants to exercise His authority. In this regard there are a few important principles:
- God never uses force. Violence of any sort, is not His style;
- He has already given us His guidelines for living. It is called the Bible and He has laid out that which He will bless & that which He will curse;
- Throughout the history of mankind there are essentially only two things he asks of us: a) Hear what He says and b) Obey Him – just DO it!; and
- It is the Holy Spirit who achieves His purposes – first in catching our attention and secondly in teaching us, nudging us, guiding us to DO what He wants. Sadly most ignore a living relationship with Him preferring religion instead.
This last point is VITAL for when we truly trust the Lord then we will inevitably trust that the Holy Spirit IS all powerful, all-knowing and all-EVERYTHING!
The prevalence of evil on this earth (and yes I include the corruption, self-interest & greed of Samoan’s leaders in this statement) is not because the devil has authority; it is because he is given authority. He can only do this through deception and trickery.
Voting in a political system that is accursed from the outset [structurally] calling a black system [Democracy] white [the best system of government we know of; that our grandfathers fought for and gave their lives for*, blah, blah, blah] empowers evil.
All this is of course totally separate from the individual failings and weaknesses of the human leaders that eventually claw their way to the top of the pile through the Democratic elections AND totally separate from the issue of whether or not true Democracy exists in an essentially feudal culture at all. That is not even a given for many who know of how things actually work behind the scenes in politics in Paradise!
It is not possible to change a system from inside. Voters are deluded if they think that voting for one candidate or another will make one iota of a difference, which is why Jesus never voted. Instead He did exactly what His Father wanted and it’s exactly the same thing as He wants us to do today – live work and play OUTSIDE of the accursed political system of Democracy; take a leadership role in the community where it really matters and leave the politics, and politicians to their own devices. The corruption in Samoa has nothing on the corruption within either the Jewish religious systems or the Roman political system at the time of Jesus’ earthly ministry. If the Master felt it a waste of time to involve Himself in politics then even more so should it be the task of a true believer to avoid participating in the circus.
The Democratic system (in cahoots with the usurious financial system) is accursed systemically. God doesn’t have to DO anything to let evil self-destruct, this is just its nature. That He has actively held back this implosion is demonstration of His ultimate power and authority because the evil ones have been planning and scheming for centuries to affect their goals, being hindered time after time. The timing of events is entirely in God’s hands.
There will be an eventual implosion as the restraining power of the Holy Spirit is gradually lifted and evil is let run its full course but despite widespread fear-mongering this process with its inevitable consequences is certainly not uncontrolled.
My advice to genuine Christian believers in Samoa (and anywhere BTW) is NOT to vote, but to do this as a positive act standing up for what is right, NOT a negative knee-jerk reaction to a recognition that Democratic systems are evil or ungodly. Just one person saying to the Lord, “I hear, I obey!” WILL achieve infinitely more than a hundred politicians and bureaucrats all vying for power in a dog-eat-dog race to control the peoples’ credit, monetary systems, legal rules and so on.
The reason is that God said, period!
When He blesses biblical human management systems (actually His ideal a lot closer to the Samoan Matai system than the Western systems BTW) contrary to the brutal Democratic system (where 51% enforce their wishes on the 49%) which gives the Money Power the easiest control system conceivable to outwork their evil, then when we HEAR and OBEY, we give the Holy Spirit the space; the opportunity; the authority to act.
He’s awaiting that and how He chooses to bless us; what He chooses to do with us and when He does this is entirely in His hands.
Having explained the context, and made my point, I conclude now with reasoning. I don’t like reasoning so much as setting the scene biblically, for the bible says that it is faith that pleases God and I prefer people to recognise the prophetic wisdom in my words rather than to argue the point but genuine Samoan Christians do have a unique opportunity to test (if you will) the Lord in this 2016 election.
The opposition party Tautua has lost a founder and key player to the HRPP. Their list of candidates is small, and you cannot list all their candidates as game-changers. While there is growing dissent over the current Prime Minister’s style and various corruption found on his watch I haven’t met a single person who thinks that the current government will not return.
This means that at a big picture level this is a perfect opportunity to NOT vote, for the loss of one vote (or even thousands of votes) is unlikely to change the outcome at a big-picture level. This is a no-lose chance for Christians to stand up and say, “No! I will not assign authority to people who are supporting an ungodly system. Not in the next five years will anybody be able to say that I voted for or endorsed [enter political actor here]!” That will achieve a clear conscience sufficient that if people in the future who are dissatisfied grizzle, we can say, “Well you voted him/them in, not me!”
Now if this was done in the name of Jesus, for the Lord, in what we believe is obedience to His word then it is as I said up to Him to reward with blessing in the manner in which He chooses.
The bible says that the people get the leadership they deserve. Look at your leaders Samoa! You put them there when you voted!
Except for one election when MMP voting came and I knew a candidate personally I have never voted. In this regard I have a free conscience and can face my Maker knowing that I have not participated in or supported an immoral, ungodly system of government.
In a spiritual sense, I have a relationship and a clarity that is unclouded by submission to the spiritual authority that controls the political/financial Beast. I believe that the Lord is and will continue to seek those who truly do hear Him and choose to Obey.
Samoa supposedly has the Word of God as its founding principles. Voting is akin to petty theft – contrary to His ideal and born of pride.
If anyone wants the biblical references to any of the above concepts feel free to ask me for them through the Tipline.
* Many a grandfather who survived and later thought things through and asked questions have come to see the deceptions involved in warfare. Many have also regretted their gullibility, for war is always about power and money – VERY RARELY about what the politicians claim it is at the time
