OMG! OMG! OMG! The Samoan Prime Minister Tuila’epa is going to have a very hard time explaining this one . . . I publish here, for the record, a letter written in the hand of the Samoan Prime Minister that appears to endorse anonymous Samoan blogger OLP’s claim that Tuila’epa was up to his eyeballs in a political assassination. The people behind OLP appear to cranking the campaign up against their corrupt leader. There will be more blood at this rate.
The Prime Minister of Samoa, Tuila’epa has been fending off criticism from an anonymous Samoan blogger going by the name of O Le Palemia (OLP). His recent release of a hand-written letter, written by the Prime Minister to one of those involved in a political murder a while back, has, in my books ‘upped the anti’ enormously. This is huge Political Dynamite (with CAPITAL LETTERS), if ever there was!
OLP’s claims that the Prime Minister was totally complicit in the political murder counters the version Prime Minister Tuila’epa has issued for years, which is that he, Tuila’epa, was the actual intended target, not the fallen [dissent] politician.
In late 2017, OLP wrote a series of articles in which he accused the PM of lying in his book “Palemia” and claimed that instead of the PM being the intended target of assassination, it was Tuila’epa and his HRPP [political party] that arranged for a short, sharp lesson in obedience for all – Samoan-style – tow the line or you’ll be next for a bullet, in other words.
This would put new and more accurate meaning to the phrase the PM continually uses, that Samoa has “political stability”, doesn’t it?
It was these claims from OLP in 2017 that got my attention and turned my opinion of OLP from a questioning, “How much of what he is saying is fact and how much of it is political dissent?” to . . . “Boy, you’ve really got my attention now, OLP!”
The reason for this change in my thinking was that I knew from personal experience how two-faced the Prime Minister of Samoa really was; I understand how politics works; the case that OLP gave had huge credibility (an internal consistency that the PM’s ‘official’ version didn’t have) and he gave good details of the real events of that fateful night in Samoan’s history which indicated a very strong source of inside [suppressed] information.
The evidence above, supplied originally on OLP’s blog, is IMHO totally genuine. I have received more than one letter from the PM and this letter is indeed in Tuila’epa’s unique personal handwriting. I can’t speak Samoan well enough to confirm this but the translation by OLP appears to be accurate too. Unless someone can prove otherwise, I would take this letter to be genuine and the translation supplied as gospel.
This is OLP’s translation:
Feiloai ma …
Thank you for your patience bro!
I’m writing you this letter as I’m really desperate for yours and Leafa’s help. But you must come out first to speed up the process to release the old man/Leafa from jail. It is an important requirement that Leafa partner up with you on the mission which you are required. Because if “that’s” ended, I’ll be safe/secure, Leafa will come out on top of it as he’s very good in playing politics/lies and no one will question him, but you/Toi Aukoso, break the RECORD.
We must work together. You must be released before Christmas. Leafa’s early release will be dependent on you. But the old man/Leafa must help you asap in order for you to be released sooner to organise our program.
It’s imperative to act swiftly in case it may be late to leave Falelatai and Simatau. Tell Leafa, what’s done is done. I’m not being unkind but there are a thousand eyes watching me. That’s why you are really needed as you are fit to carry out everything. I trust you fully.
The whole program and its connection, that’s us, yes.
Give my regards to Leafa
We’ll keep in touch
Doing my best to get the $6000 to pay for the rest of your sentence so you can be released.
Tell Leafa to be patient and courageous as you must be released first to set up our heavy duty before the elections.
OLP and others can provide commentary on the significance and importance of the contents, but man, do I have some questions about what this letter shows, even as an outsider – money, power, politics, corruption . . . whew! There will be a flurry of actions, words, gossip, claims and counterclaims behind the scenes with this release, in Samoan politics, in Samoan society in general, in the Samoan diaspora, in Social Media and potentially in the public arena too.
People with power will do anything to protect that power. I’ve previously called Samoans a violent and passionate people. There is a huge distaste for this violence within the Samoan community, however politics is a messy business, passions will flair and Samoan-style restraint by force [decree] can only be effective for a time. I cannot see how this level of challenge to TPTB in Samoa doesn’t result in more blood.
OLP, as a Samoan business leader said to me recently, is a brave man. Whether OLP is a team of people or an individual being sustained by a group of well connected dissidents (which is what I suspect), he certainly has the attention of many. “Either way they are good entertainers!” was the response.
Whether you play with guns or [political] dynamite, damage eventually occurs. In this case I think the Prime Minister’s credibility has taken a huge hit.
